This Privacy Policy explains what kind of information the app stores, where it stores it, and what permissions are required in order for the app to function.
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.
After scanning the QR code on the European Digital Green Certificate and pressing save, the data of that QR code is stored locally on the device. Therefore, myGreenPass has access to all data in the QR code of the certificate.
If the user later decides delete that certificate, then the data of that certificate is deleted from the device.
No data is shared with systems or people.
Two permissions in total are requested. However, the app is completely functional with just one of the two permissions, depending on the user.
The first permission is permission to use the camera. The user can choose to give this permission to the app so that he/she can scan the QR code on his/her cerficate. The camera is open while the user is on the scanning screen. This includes the 'How it works' page as well the preview of the certificate that appears right after scanning a valid QR code.
The second permission is permission to access the file system. This permission allows the app to open the file picker menu. However, the app only has access to the file that is eventually selected by the user. That file is then analysed to locate and decode the QR code. No file gets saved in the app.
